(NASDAQ: SCKT, PSE: SOK), announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Moss Adams LLP to serve as the Company's independent auditors for 2004, succeeding independent auditors Ernst & Young LLP. Moss Adams was approved as Socket's new independent auditors after careful consideration of several firms by the Company's Board of Directors and Audit Committee. The change was made for cost considerations, reflecting the rising costs of audits and audit related services in the post Sarbanes-Oxley era. There were no disagreements with Ernst & Young. Socket has filed a Current Report on Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the change of its auditors.
