Magazine Articles Can Help Anyone

By: Rae Goodman

Magazine Articles

As a writer, there are many things that I would like to do. Someday I would like to write magazine articles, but I am in no hurry to do so. Though I have been writing for over 20 years, I have only recently begun to take it seriously. I write for a variety of different web sites, and have a few ghost writing projects that I do. I make a good living for my writing right now, but the world of freelancers unpredictable. I do my best with each every article that I write, but I know have a lot of work ahead of me. Every piece I write is hopefully a step closer to better writing.

One of my best friends lives in Australia. She has been a professional writer for a very long time, and she writes many magazine articles each month. She has articles featured in many of Australia?s largest magazines on a regular basis. I am quite out of her, and I have learned a lot from her. Many of her magazine articles are well written, personal, and extremely reader friendly. She has a way of speaking that draws you in, tells you a story, and gives you great information all at once.

If you are a new writer, you may want to hold off of the magazine articles for a while. This does not mean you cannot write them, but you should work on your craft before you began. You may not know what you are doing right or what you are doing wrong when hurrying to submit, so make sure you work on your writing skills a little before you begin to submit magazine articles to publishers. You will get some rejections, but you don?t want them to all calm as a result of you not having had enough time to hone your skills.

Before you began writing your magazine articles, make sure you study your market. The biggest mistake you can make is to submit your magazine articles to the wrong publications. If you are writing about babies, you don?t want to submit to Cosmopolitan magazine. Though this may seem obvious to you, there are many people who make this mistake. It is always in your best interest to read a few past issues of any magazine before you submit. Read all of the magazine articles you can find to make sure that your material matches what they?re looking for. That way, you know you are getting her material to the right person. You don't want to waste an editors time, or your own time for that matter.
