The best buy is the company, interested in helping the student community in their education by offering them best by scholarship. The company feels it should help the students to shape their bright future. For this the best buy company offers the students the best buy scholarship for the college education. The program of the best buy scholarship was started in the 1990. So far more than 9000 students have received this best buy scholarship. The total amount distributed to the student community as the best buy scholarship is more than million. This year 1500 students will receive the best buy scholarship. Each best buy scholarship will be of 00 value. In addition to this a total fifty one students will be awarded special type of the best buy scholarship. This will be of ,000 value for each student.

The company feels that the students learn both in the campus and in the life that they live out of the campus. So the company feels it is important to take in to account both academic and extra curricular activities of the student for granting the best buy scholarship. Three important points are considered for granting the scholarship. First is the voluntary work done by the student. The second point is his work experience. The third point is his academic achievement. The application of the student is evaluated in these three areas and then he is granted the best buy scholarship.

For getting qualified for this best buy scholarship the student needs to have certain eligibility. First condition is he must be studying in USA or

Puerto Rico. He has to complete high school senior graduation. The distance between his home and nearest best buy store should not be more than seventy five miles. He should have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 2.4 on the 4.0 scale. He should have 2.4 points on the 4.0 scale. These points are average points in high school grade point system. He should have commitment for his volunteer work. He should demonstrate complete involvement in his work experience. He must enroll for the full time undergraduate course. It can be two years or four years college course. It can be university course or vocational-technical school. The main point is the educational institute must be accredited.

The best buy scholarship is awarded after evaluating the academic achievement, volunteer work efforts and work experience. The best buy scholarship is NOT renewable. This scholarship is awarded for one college duration time only and only for one year. This scholarship is not continued next year with the intention of giving benefit to maximum number of students. There is no provision for applying on a paper application. All the applications have to be submitted electronically online. Only the finalists are notified by sending to them emails in mid march. They are supposed to give additional documents. The list of the recipients is announced online by mid may on the best buy website. If there are more than two best buy stores near your home, you are supposed to indicate only two best buy stores. The checks are sent on the home address of the recipient and they are in the name of the school on 15 August.
