Non-invasive cosmetic procedures leapt 8 percent to more than 9.1 million procedures from 2006. These statistics show a strong, constant, and healthy increase in recent years in cosmetic surgery that also mirrors the economic growth of the US.

Reconstructive surgery, which improves function and appearance to abnormal areas of the body, remains relatively stable. The top five reconstructive procedures were tumor removal, laceration repair, scar modification, hand surgery and breast reduction.
