Deep Wrinkles Are Hard To Get Rid Of

By: Jean Houston

If you have deep wrinkles, then you may find that the make up you are using to cover them is not effective enough to make you feel completely comfortable. Thinner, less obvious wrinkles are easier to hide, and that is why a lot of people choose to use make up to do this rather than opt for more drastic methods. However, if you are worried about your deep wrinkles, you may be looking towards these other options to resolve the issue.

Collagen injections is just one method of reducing the visibility of deep wrinkles, and it is an option that a lot of people decide to use. They are generally used to smooth skin that is wrinkled and it has proved to be very effective with particularly effective with deep wrinkles. It is also commonly called collagen implants and also collagen replacement therapy. Before looking at the way this works, you have to look at the make up of the skin first. Collagen itself, is situated in the second layer of the skin, called the dermis. It makes up the majority of this level and it acts as a support to the top layer of the skin, the epidermis. This is the layer that we see. Think of collagen as scaffolding for the top layer of skin. Without it, the top layer isn’t supported and that is why the deep wrinkles form. When collagen is injected, it is injected into the dermis to provide the epidermis with more support and it makes it appear plumper and healthier.

When you have deep wrinkles, the doctor or surgeon that is performing the collagen injections may decide to use another method of reducing wrinkles to have a much better effect. Laser treatments, botox and chemical peels may all be used in conjunction with the injections to ensure that you are completely happy with the final look. The thing you need to remember about collagen injections, is that you may require more than one session to get the desired look that you want. You should therefore ensure that your budget allows for repeated sessions for the whole treatment of deep wrinkles.

Before you decide on this method of wrinkle reduction, you should have a consultation session with your doctor or surgeon. This is to ensure that you are making the right decision and that there isn’t a different method that would better suit your needs and your expectations as well as your budget. You will also be told how the procedure will be performed, any recovery time that should be allowed and also any after effects you may expect. Not only that, but you will also be told how many repeated sessions will be required and the lengths of time between each session that should be allowed. Once all of this has been discussed, and you are sure that this is the option you wish to take, the procedure will be booked in and carried out.
