The history of make up was then resulted to today’s cosmetics industry which sells approximately billion worldwide which is become more and more known nowadays. The history of make up application began in the ancient Egypt where the Egyptian people in the 4th Century used sheep fat based cr?mes, scented oils, and eye paint especially by the women in the upper class to beautify facial appearance.

In the subsequent millenniums, history of make up in Far Eastern countries like in Japan and China was also known, where women at that time applied powder made from rice in order to have a plasty white complexions, whereas both women and men in Europe who belong to the aristocratic applied chalk powders and white lead in order to achieve the identical ghostly effect.

During the same period, the history of make up was also recognized when the Greek women applied red iron to the lips and ocher clay which became part of the history of make up especially in lipstick application.

The usage of the cosmetics and other beauty products was seen as only for the upper classes women and for stage and theatre actors and actresses during that era.

As we can observe, the history of make up gave birth to the cosmetics companies and industries which took in the year 1930’s. The Hollywood was being responsible for that. Moreover, Max Factor which is part of every Hollywood’s makeup artist wherein using pancake makeup and other few cosmetic products became known because it produce pleasing and attractive appearance on the television screens.

Because of impact of the history of make up, there are approximately 10,000 of makeup and cosmetic products are out in the today. Newspapers, television, websites, and specialty magazines are made available with marketing promotions, advertisements, and testimonials for every potential cosmetic sort in order for the costumer to have one. The history of make up industry has certainly passed through a long way to its improvement in the present time.
