Conceptualizing and developing Java games that are mobile-based are quite difficult to imagine especially if you are a mobile user who are not that aware of the technology being brought by programming languages in the mobile industry. It’s a fact that a programming language runs and controls all the applications in the mobile. With this fact, only Java programming language is the most common used among mobile-based games. Nowadays, mobile-based games are now gaining popularity worldwide because of Java games. For every user or owner of a mobile, it’s quite impossible that it doesn’t come with any of the popular Java games today. Java games really provide personal entertainment to every mobile user and owner. It had played a pivotal role in the generation of revenue not only for the mobile owners and users but as well as to the handset makers and game publishers. Java games had also made way of giving various opportunities for associated professionals and game developers. By the year 2009, it is now projected that mobile gamers are abound to reach by 220 million, which means that the business of mobile gaming will most likely to expand to the higher levels as well as constituting a bigger part of the profit pie for the mobile users and owners and handset makers.
The Java games that are mobile-based can be classified into three categories. First category is the embedded games that are hard-coded into and shipped with the handset system of the mobile. However, these embedded games are more likely to have their time to get obsolete or outdated. One popular example of an embedded game is the "Snake", which can be found in all Nokia brand mobiles. The second category is the SMS games, which is being played by the mobile user by sending SMS message to the game server and then the game server answers back in a form of SMS as well. SMS games are often in the form of live polls and contests. However, this category had never been popular because it is every costly. The last category is the browser games that are being played through the use of the built-in micro browser in the mobile. These games can be played in modes of offline or online. Browser games available through the carrier brand of your mobile or through the website of a third party game provider where you can download anything for your mobile for the purpose of offline gaming.
