Laws On Shooting Practice Are Practical

By: Evan Tyler

In many areas of the world, firearms are not allowed to be publicly seen. If you are transporting firearms on an airplane, you must register the handgun with the flight attendant at the check-in counter. The airport police also have to be notified. Obviously the handguns have to be dislodged with no bullets present, however, they also have to be in a hard-shell case that is locked. The airport will probably require you to provide the airport police with the key and combination to the guncase. Make sure that you are there when they open the case so that you can get the key back once the gun is inspected.

The use of firearms have proven to be quite restrictive in much of the US. If someone uses a firearm for a violent situation or a drug-trafficking crime, then they will be punished in prison for 20 years. If the firearm is a higher powered gun, such as a machine gun, then they will be convicted for life without release. Gun holders who have a Concealed Carry Weapon license will have more rights as far as the shooting that they can do and where they can take their gun. In Oklahoma, a law was passed stating that Concealed Carry Weapon permit holders are able to protect themselves in their home with a gun.

The laws on guns and shooting in the United Kingdom is very similar to those in Australia. All firearms have to be registered with either a firearm certificate or a shotgun certificate. The shotguns in the UK are barrels no shorter than 24 inches. The UK focuses primarily on how to keep the public safe from harm and how to prevent deaths that occur with firearms. A firearm certificate is different from a shotgun certificate in the fact that the firearm must be registered with the police. The type of firearm, the caliber, and the serial number are all required to be reported.

To receive the firearm certificate, the police have to feel that the person requesting the certificate has a qualifiable reason to own the gun. Since 1946, the most common reason for owning a gun that is accepted is self-defense. Along with the application, the person must supply a verification of identity, two references stating the person’s good character, and a doctor’s letter of approval. Those who are accepted have to adhere to the requirement of safe gun storage.
