Obituaries Are Common

What are obituaries? How do they play important roles in the daily lives of most people reading newspapers as well as online newspapers? Obituaries provide accounts for the significance and textures of someone who passed away in regards to all that he or she did while alive. These are usually mistaken from a "death notice" and the "funeral notice" but obituaries are totally different. Obituaries are usually paid advertisements that are written on the newspaper or magazine that are paid by the family members of the person who died. Other obituaries are paid by the funeral home itself.

How do obituaries are written or what are written in a obituary before it is being published on the newspaper or the magazine? Nowadays, most of the news organizations already provide pre-written obituaries for their subscribers and for those notable people who are still alive and would want to write contents for their own obituary. These pre-written obituaries allow a person to write detailed and authoritative information about himself or herself as how he or she wants to appear. It can even be lengthy or come in short paragraph so it would be easier to look at by people reading the newspapers.

Have you heard about premature obituaries? With the exact definition of obituaries, it should always be subsequent, which means they should come after a person had died. However, there are obituaries that often appear either intentionally or accidentally and these are called the premature obituaries that usually appears occasionally. Premature obituaries may appear in several reasons most likely human errors such as because of hoaxes, people having similar names causing confusions or unexpected case of survival of a person who was previously close to death. Other causes of premature obituaries also include miscommunication between the family members, funeral homes and the newspaper, which sometimes result to embarrassment for everyone. In recent report of an Irish Author, he mentioned that premature obituaries are perfect samples of publicity. Because of these, all newspaper organizations in the world are now having policies that require death or funeral notices from reliable sources like funeral homes to prevent premature obituaries from occurring.

Obituaries are notable features of every newspaper. There are featured obituaries that come in full page reflecting all the life and influences of the person who died. However, notable persons are the ones who are frequently given this privilege of one full page of obituary especially if he or she is a contributory to the history of the nation or the world.
