Ride a scooter is different from riding some automobiles. Some Automobiles have adjustments to their seat and steering wheel, brake and gas pedals. It also differs in the size of the bikers like if they are small and tall, they may encounter a problem in riding position. There must be a few adjustments to reach comfortable riding.
When we make certain adjustments before you ride a scooter, let us start with the clutch and front brake lever. The angle of the can be adjusted always though your bike is not equipped with adjustable levers.
Lot of bikes were not properly adjusted that your wrists put into an uncomfortable angle and so hard to stage-manage safely whenever you ride a scooter. Just simply adjust the levers up and down by using two Allen screws. And if you encounter having a problem in reaching the handle bars without leaning forward, just adjust the position up and down then you can ride a scooter comfortably.
What is the best thing to do if you want to lower your bike? Usually most riders prefer to ride a scooter with their feet flat on the ground. Lower the shocks not more than an inch is the first thing to do. Probably, cruisers would want to have long low look with compromises. The manufactures have scores of engineers that helps riders obtain ground clearance, ride and comfort to ride a scooter.
You must lower the seat to obtain the easiest and safest way to get your feet closer to the ground. Acquire professional upholsterer if you want to use stock seat. To feel sitting comfortable it is easy to cut foam from top and sides of the seat if the seat cover is removed. But if you are not satisfied with the lowering seat you have done then you can purchase an after-market seat like Corbin and so for that you can ride a scooter comfortably.
For another option in lowering seats, you can buy lower shocks and fork springs. Just bear in mind that you must not lower sets more than one inch because it can cause tough parts to town down and can lever a wheel off the ground.
Just like some whom ride a scooter who lowered their bikes so much has experience difficulties in leaning. To ensure safety you may contact the manufacturer and ask about what shock absorber to be use to lower the bike.
If in case your stock shocks measure 12", then an after-market measures 11" shock it does not mean that your bike will be lowered for only one inch. Better consult a professional and ask about it to get the best answer because as a rider you must consider your safety and comfortable feeling while ride a scooter.
