What will be the factors affecting the scooter mileage? The first most obvious part will be the payload. If the body of the scooter is heavy then obviously it will consume lot of fuel and in turn will give less scooter mileage. The technology is continuously striving to make the scooter body lighter and lighter. The heavy cast iron parts of the yesteryears were eventually replaced by light weight aluminum alloys. Now these metal parts are being replaced by the plastic parts. Now ABS type plastic is widely used in the body parts.
The second factor will be road condition. The western countries have better roads and so the scooter mileage is good. But the Asian countries have very bad roads.
This means that the consumer must be made aware of the fact that he has to take extra precaution to get better scooter mileage on the bad quality roads. The proper air pressure in the tires will result in better scooter mileage. So consumers are educated in this field.
Some companies now offer you some electronic devices. They can guide the rider in changing his driving habits. The driving habits are responsible for the scooter mileage. These devices are of two types. First are visual type’s indicators. They show whether you are driving in efficient zone or not. Just looking at arrows can help you to remain within the good scooter mileage zone. In cities you may not be able to see the indicator. So the other types of the indicators are audio type. If you are crossing the safer scooter mileage zone, immediately there will be audio beep.
If the rider takes these signals seriously and changes his bad driving habits, he or she can benefit 10 kmpl easily.
