Las Vegas is the Craps capital of the world. This is the place to see and be seen playing the popular dice game. Craps is played with at least 1 player. Each player rolls two dice across a playing table one round at a time. The initial round of play is referred to as the "come-out roll" and the player rolling is called the "shooter".
If the shooter should roll the dice for a total of 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12 the round ends. The totals of 2, 3 or 12 are referred to as craps and the totals of 7 or 11 are a ’win’. Other number totals are referred to as points. The shooter continues to play each round until a 7 or the point number is achieved. In the event a 7 is rolled, the game is called a ’seven out’ and the die is passed to the next player. When the point number is rolled, the round comes to an end and the game starts over with the same shooter.
In the shooter position, there are a number of shooting bets that can be made. The most common type of shooting bet is whether the round will end in a point roll or a seven roll. Other shooting bets can estimate the total amount of points rolled before the seven roll appears. All bets are made via chips on the craps playing table.
Another shooting bets option is something called a fire bet. Here, viewers of a craps game in play can place a to bet on whether or not the current shooter will maintain a hot streak of play. This entails rolling point totals of different values. As each point value total is made, a fire symbol is places on the craps layout.
There are certain limitations set in place. For example, the first three points will not pay out. This starts with the fourth point at a 25-1 payout. The fifth point pays 250-1 and the sixth point pays at a 1,000-1.
A fire bet is one of the most popular types of shooting bets in the game. The shooter can get involved in the betting game with a pass or don’t pass line bet. These are based on the number of points rolled in any one craps game by the individual shooter.
The variety of shooting bets available for a given craps game have helped the game maintain its popularity. It allows spectators to get involved in the action as well as the shooter rolling the dice in hopes of a big money paying victory.
