If you are a busy person, then you will know exactly how it feels to be stressed. If you are a mother, then you may be trying to juggle looking after your children with keeping the house tidy, cooking, cleaning and still trying to maintain a manageable social life. If you own a business, then maybe you get the backlash of work that is not done up to scratch. In todays society, it is very rare for us to actually take five minutes out of our busy day to look after ourselves. When was the last time you went to the gym, or booked yourself into a day spa? How long ago was it that you read a good book with no interruptions or watched a good film without having to get up halfway through? If you are sat there reading this and thinking, "Gosh, that’s me!" then you could be on your way to getting stress wrinkles!
Despite the common misconception that only old people get wrinkles, or those people that smoke, it is people like you and me that get them too. Age isn’t a factor in this process, and neither is gender. Busy people very rarely get the time to relax and make sure they themselves have a good nights sleep, or eat a meal every day with the right amount of nutrients in it. Whether or not you like to think about it, this whole lifestyle that you are living could do more harm than you first thought, not only to your health but to your appearance also.
Stressed people don’t generally get enough sleep. We all know that we should aim to sleep for at least eight hours every night, but how many of us actually do it? This sleep, or rather to be more precise, lack of it, could be causing you to look much older than you are, mainly because of stress wrinkles. Wrinkles are not just a sign of old age, they can be a symptom of other medical conditions, and some of them can be fairly serious.
Next time you look into the mirror and see another wrinkle that wasn’t there yesterday, then you could be suffering inside as well on the outside and it is a definate sign that you need to take it easy for a while. Stress wrinkles are common in this day and age, where people are constantly trying to juggle many different aspects of their lives. Take a day off work and go to a day spa. Try microdermabrasion in the day spa. This can drmatically reduce the visibility of stress wrinkles and also give you a well needed break! Why not have a laugh in the morning in front of the mirror and try out a few facial exercises. Not only will you be able to have a little giggle with yourself in the comfort of your own bathroom or bedroom, but it can also help to tighten up the skin on your face and try to prevent those pesky stress wrinkles.
Whatever it is that is causing you to be stressed, take a break. If it’s work, take a couple of days holiday. If it’s the family, go away for the weekend, somewhere remote where you can concentrate on yourself. The more you carry on with your lifestyle, the older you will look, due to the dark circles around your eyes and stress wrinkles. Not only that but these stress wrinkles could be a sign of something more serious and it is your bodies way of telling you to take a break. You should listen to it!
