Yamaha Scooter Offers Lots Of Fun

The Yamaha scooter had to fight bitterly for its place in the market with its competitors. The Vespa and Lambreta were two Italian brands that had dominated scooter world for nearly three decades. It was certainly a Herculean task to compete with well established brands. But it was the Japanese ingenuity at work that made the Yamaha scooter a successful brand in spite of a tough competition.

The Italians felt that the Japanese scooters like the Yamaha scooter are cheap copies of their original brands. They openly ridiculed the Yamaha scooter as the cheap plastic copy of the original scooter. But the consumer liked the new lines immensely. The Yamaha scooter did offer an economical option to the already established scooter brands. The market was overwhelmed by the ingenuity of the Yamaha scooter manufacturer. The Yamaha scooter was sold like a hot cake. The Yamaha scooter was able to break the stronghold of the well established brands because of their cost advantage and the design innovation.

The Japanese scooter manufacturers like the Yamaha scooter brought in lot many new features in scooter industry. There was fresh line look in their models which differentiated them from established brands. As the plastic was introduced, they were light weight and compact to use. The new generation was put off by heavy weight clumsy original Italian scooter brands. The Japanese scooter manufacturers like the Yamaha scooter also brought in first fully automatic transmission. They were advertised as twist the throttle and go scooters. They were easy to handle. The Japanese were out to give full satisfaction to the customer. They gave bigger seat for the rider. Happy to ride was the main theme of their ads at one time. The eagerness of the Japanese manufacturers like the Yamaha scooter to provide better joy ride to customer destroyed the competition comprehensively.

The next step for the Yamaha scooter was to consolidate their market position.

The USA market was always the driving force in the scooter industry. The Yamaha scooter manufacturer understood this very well. In USA the pollution regulations were changing very fast. The need of the hour was innovation in engines. The Japanese scooter manufacturers like the Yamaha scooter did exactly that. They were in front fore for producing engines as per ever changing emission laws. The established Italian brands were using high emission engines and outdated manual grip shift technology. They remained restricted to the European market. The Yamaha scooter and similar Japanese brands swept the USA market completely. The Yamaha scooter offered low emission engine and auto transmission technology.

The Yamaha scooter is easy to handle, economical, fit in small parking space, can go through any traffic jam, fun to ride. No doubt they are popular in the market.
