United States Population Sustainable?

By: Lance Winslow

Currently there are over 300 million people in the United States and growing. Each year 3 million illegal aliens join us and that increase is before accounting for the birth rate against our death rates. In fact we are growing in population faster than ever before. One has to ask when will we run out of room? Will 500,000,000 people in the United States of America actually sustainable? Well the answer is it could be. For instance there is 1 Billion people in India and 1.3 Billion in China. We know China is having issues and India could be under dire consequences of lack of water, whereas the problems currently are only borderline dangerous and could lead to drastic measures in the future?

Will Bird Flu wipe out enough people to make some of the human population in the world possible and stave off deaths and problems of over population in the future? What is a sustainable number of humans on the surface of the planet? By 2075 there will be 50 Billion people as the population charts suggest, is that sustainable? Do we have enough clean water assets and system to support that? Right now, the answer is no, the World Health Organization and the World Bank are working with the UN and others to fix these discrepancies in the world and on the African Continent as well as working with leaders in the Middle East and Asia to come to terms with a viable plan.

What about the United States? 500 million is a huge number. Our coastal cities are highly congested but the middle of the country is not as congested. However there is no longer an abundance of resources to support the growing population. Water will be a premium and power is an issue too. Fuel is already and issue and what will the country do if Climate Change continues along with the population growth? We have problems with dead zones in our oceans, pollution and threats of diseases we thought were taken care of already. What about natural disasters and water supplies? These are un answered questions we must come to terms with as our infrastructure grows old and needs repair. We all need to be thinking here, are you? Think on it.
