Here are some of the most recent findings on the Green Tea potent substance Polyphenol, and new effect against cancer, According to the Reuters Press Agency, Spanish and British scientist discovered a new secret of green tea preventing cancer. Researchers of the Spanish Murcia University and British Innes Centre discovered that in the green teas there is a kind of green tea polyphenol (EGCG), it can prevent the cancer cell unify with DHFR in growth. Professor Thornley of Innes Centre said that , they had first discovered that the green tea polyphenol could prevent DHFR; this kind of enzyme is the goal matter for anti cancer drug. Green tea polyphenol has in green teas (only when in its natural form) five times then the other types of teas. It is now a scientific fact that Green teas can indeed reduce the occurrence of certain types of cancer. Professor Thornley said that the polyphenol in green teas has the same molecular structure of the cancer drug, Methotrexate.
